About our presenter:
Physiatrist and healthy lifestyle advocate, Dr. Rhonda Mattox will be teaching the importance of eating healthy for proper mental health. With more than 15 years of experience, she an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Dr. Mattox has a broad range of experience in policy advising and government relations. She has served as a consultant to state and federal agencies including Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)and the United States Health and Human Services (HHS). Likewise, she has served as a health policy adviser to elected officials--including immediate past Dean of the United States House of Representative Congressman John Dingell (Michigan), longest serving member of the U. S. House of Representatives.
Dr. Rhonda is a medical media consultant. While working at University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA), she began assisting New York and Hollywood's award winning writers and executive producers (from 902010; ER; Brothers and Sisters and other popular sitcoms) as a consultant in development of accurate, non-stigmatizing portrayals of individuals with mental health diagnoses within Hollywood's story lines. Dr. Mattox continues to create health promoting commercials that resonate and inspire lifestyle modifications.
Dr. Mattox is a highly regarded media personality that is a contributor to Fox 16 News and Arkansas, Michigan, and Ohio's radio airwaves. She launched Praise 102.5's TAKE 5 WITH THE PHYSICIAN in 2015, serving as the Executive Producer and Co-host of the weekly radio show. She also tackled listener's questions on taboo topics like childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, and HIV during Power 92's ASK THE DOC call in morning radio show with Broadway Joe from 2014 - 2016.
